Need to revamp the portfolio
With the massive increase in writing I’ve been doing lately, I think a portfolio listing split up between main subject matters may be in order. I’m also going to see if I can’t implement a script to hide/show listings of articles to shorten up the length a bit.
In other news, I’m waiting to see if I’ve been picked up by Sitepoint to write. This is a tremendous opportunity as they pay their writers handsomely and allow for bonus payments on certain numbers of views. Uptik is giving me a lot of project work which is nice and I located another site that pays decently per article written. However, if I’m picked up by Sitepoint, any other writing will just be gravy.
I am going to check on the application date for Spring quarter financial aid for Bellevue CC. I know I’m going to have to wait one quarter so I can apply for and have the aid in hand when registering for classes. Just a minor bump in the road but a road I’m excited to start on!

My Really Quick Update
I have been so wrapped up in writing lately that I haven’t posted out to my journalism blog here. Everything is still in the works though I may have to wait one quarter as the financial aid part won’t kick in just yet. That’s all well and fine for the moment as it gives me the time I’d like to get setup. Ideally with my “office” moved to a different area of the house and the possibility of a new internet system in place.
Plans, plans….and lots more writing.
Update - Financial Aid, Beta Demo, Agenda
The Bellevue Community College’s financial aid office has bizarre hours. Every time I get all set to call, they are not open yet, closed, at lunch or staff meetings. So, I’ll attempt today right when they open (10:30 am which is odd, in my opinion). I have a feeling I may have to hold off just one quarter as I applied for financial aid after the official cut off date. We’ll have to see.
But the good news of the day is I was contacted directly to demo and beta test a new roll-out of a social media application tool. At 2 pm today I’ll be in a teleconference with the creators of this program, playing with it and learning about it. I love that I’m on press media lists!
